Looks like Gary Reeder has the cover again! He has the centerfold too! That 500 S&W ought to be enough satisfy any man's big bore high pressure dreams.

Does the cover gun carry the normal Reeder BLING? I have only held one of Reeder's guns and that was back in the early 2000's, maybe 2002. It was a super cool little Sherriff's 45 colt that had a rounded but and stags. I likely would have bought it but for the lazer/sand etching--well that and the poor little TLA sitting in the corner bare feet (no grips) and all.
Since that time I had swayed from Reeder's work, but must admit that with folks here holding him in such high regard I keep finding myself more curious about his work. By their appearance they remind me of some pimp'd out caddilac with 28" gold rims--all show and no go, but with folks talking about his work as they do, maybe they have both the show and go. I know there is a reason Ford, Dodge and Chevy exist, Ruger and Colt--different strokes for different folks--and maybe its time for me to form a more educated conclusion.
Would he make one without the bling? I'll ahve to at least go pick up the mag and read more.

Wild, thing is with Reeders is that he is a manufacturer . When you order one of his conversion's the base gun is not a Ruger anymore. The gun becomes whatever pkg you order. That new name has to be engraved on the gun along with the new calibre. All of his registered fonts are in cursive . So you can't get Factory type lettering. Otherwise sans the pkg name and calibre (serial # too) the gun can be had unscratched ;D

That's unfortunate. I may have to buy my wife one then.

Some Reeder guns exhibit bling to the extreme. If you want a vanilla one he will go as plain as he can and still satisfy his BATFE requirements. Part of the problem is that unless you are ordering a new build you are at the mercy of the personal tastes of whoever ordered the gun. I believe that cartridge/caliber and the manufacturer's name are the minimum. I have a 45 Colt that pretty much has only that. Let's show a few pictures to illustrate what I think may be the minimum.

So why is it Gary "has" to use billboard size writing per the ATF and every other manufacturer doesn't? Not trying to knock Mr. Reeder, I'm just curious. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Dear AXE, Is that there revolver a Ruger base gun? The serial number looks like Rugers way of putem' on and the base pin keeper thru the frame looks like Rugers also?? Does he use BIG scripting to cover up where the Ruger lettering was ground off?

It is way over my head but I gather that when a manufacturer gets BATFE approval to manufacture a firearm there are specific makings that are required. The current requirement goes so far as the specific font and size.

That's unfortunate. I may have to buy my wife one then. Thats funny. I have to agree. The enormous script lettering would keep me from purchasing a gun of this nature. I think my wife would object also. LOL

Axe--now that's a gun I would own and use. Which issue has the article? Stopped by the store and had two issues on the shelf and both sported auto-loaders on the cover.

I think he has to since that's how he registered the lettering with the Feds. He keeps adding series of new guns so maybe he could make a series with factory style lettering -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"
