Is there anybody out there making grips for Freedom Arms revolvers. I found a field grade with the rubber grips and and an extra 45 colt cylinder. I looked at FA's website and their grips have to be factory fitted. I hope to make the deal this weekend if all works out. What is a fair price for a field grade 454 6" ported with the extra cylinder. The guy says it wasn't shot much. I haven't seen the gun in person yet and wonder what adjustments the rear sight have. windage and elevation?

Freedom Arms does... BJ Snow does, John Gallagher does...I.ll bet sixshot can do it as well as a couple other folks that post here.

Charles Able and Blu-Magnum does custom grips for the FA and I would check with Scott Kolar.

Don't forget Gary Reeder...

And Jack Huntington, and I'm sure Alan Harton does, as well as Dustin Linebaugh.

Value added to note that Scott Kolar required the grip frames to deliver grips. Gary Reeder required the entire gun.

Who was it again that thins out the lower portion of the FA grips in more of the "gunfighter" style? I know I've seen someone on here post a comparison pic. I'd be interested in trying some of those. I like the thickness in the top part of the grip, but feel like I would have a little more control if the grip was thinned, or maybe just flattened a bit toward the bottom.

Reeder does some "Gunfighter" style grips.. Don't have a FA example... Do have a round butted FA. Boys with a lot more experience with such things than I say that Bob Baker saw the Reeder "Gunfighter" before FA created their "Round Butt." Here is a RB and standard FA. The contour that you think you see in the RB body is actually there.

No thoughts on a price this might sell for? I am going to meet up with the seller on Sunday if his schedule permits and he is is asking $1150 for the gun and extra cylinder. I don't think he has a box as he never mentioned it.

Not a FA expert but if it is a dual cylinder gun for that price, it seems like a good deal.

Sounds like a good deal to me too if the gun is in good shape... You don't see to many abused FAs but they are out there..

Decent price for what is most likely FA's most common chambering. I think the porting would drop the value a little. Some shooters love the extra cylinders. Me, I just don't see any sense in them as I reload and if I want lower power loads reduce the charges.

The face-to-face deal can be a significant savings.. Cutting out packaging, shipping, insurance, and xfer fees can make it the equal of a $100 cheaper gun. And in a face to face the seller can include ammo, powder, primers... Don't forget to ask about brass, dies, and leather the seller might be holding too..

Thanks for your help. I am making a list of things to check out and ask about. The pictures he supplied looks like a pristine gun. Except for the rubber grips
