Gary - Thanks for sharing. My 30 is a NM (I'm looking for a 1971 OM) and I absolutely love it. One of my favorites!
Salvo - You really need to get one. In my opinion, the flash & bang are no worse than any other high pressure cartridge.
Did y'all catch Venturino's article in the June 2009 Handloader magazine? He had numerous problems with getting accurate reloads. I haven't started rolling my own for this one yet, and he definitely provided some food for thought. Mine spits out all factory loads remarkably well, despite having a few undersized throats, and I've never had a problem with the whole rimless issue.

Take Venturino's difficulties with a grain of salt... After all he doesn't even like the 44 Special... There are a pair of OM Carbines here... One from Oregon... One from Idaho The only NM Carbine got sent to Reeder and became a 300 GNR

I can't find them in my neck of the desert, but I'll just have to keep looking. Besides, all I'm going to do is convert it to a 310 GNR anyways

I've had several .30 Carbine cal. Blackhawks over the years, in both OM and NM styles. All were "tack drivers" but most gave me fits with POA vs. POI. Must'a been my southpaw hold! Now I'm down to one "Safe Queen". Carl

I love mine, the blast and bark are less than a 357 Mag mid-high load. Maxcactus and I went out with a 357 and 30 Car. one day to have a nice day shooting. 357 180gr with 13gr H110 and 30 115gr with 13gr H110 were the loads we used.

I wonder about you boys that hold the gun with the wrong hand and then wonder why it won't shoot.... Wikipedia says: Sinister is originally a Latin term for left or to the left (and by extension, left-handedness), and is used in heraldry to refer to the left of the bearer of the arms, and to the right by the viewer's eyes. It is often used to mean evil.

Can't see quite as well as I used to, but if I am not imagining things, that says: Mr. Charles A. Skelton! You've gotta Skeeter gun there! Cool!

I still can't quite make it out.... How about I supply a shipping address and you send it to me for inspection?... ;D

Gary, I'd have to argue with your "nothing special" comment.
That is special.
