Lee, Do you rest the barrel on the front "V" or part of the frame?

I rest the bottom of the frame on the front land. I also pad it with a towel for added support. Now a lot of the credit for those groups goes to Leadheads. Their gas-check bullets are some of the most accurate I've ever used. In fact, they're right up there with Cast Performance (and that's saying something). -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

I don't think I've ever shot groups that good at any distance with any of my handtools. Came close once w/one of my 1911s and some 200 gr SWC, but your groups are just stupefying! Truly outstanding work, Lee!

I had another 100 round session of 475 Linebaugh today. Turned out to be one of my best days of shooting in years. The groups pictured below were shot at 50 yards, bench rested. The load was my standard 27.0 of H110 with a 420 WFN. These are by far some of the best groups I've ever placed at that range. I post all these target threads to prove a point. For one, these cannons can be tack-driving accurate. Secondly, with practice anyone can learn to manage the recoil. It does take a lot of volume shooting to get there though. But once you do the smaller stuff seems cupcake (44 Mag, 45 Colt, etc). I think all too often folks buy 454s, 475s, and 500s and never "flex" them. Shoot the hell out 'em with top-end and you'll be surprised how proficient you can get after a few thousand rounds. Just my two cents and thanks for looking. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time" Excellent shooting!!!! IMHO one should work up to the big boys inorder to not develop poor shooting technique and then practice a lot with the load that one intends to hunt with That worked for me and others that I helped and yes the big boomers can be spectacularly accurate
