Nice snag. I snoozed and lost. I wasn't even aware they were made in stainless. Give us a few good pics and a range report.

I didn't see the auction. Can someone provide details on the Seville? Sounds neat. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

I was going to bid on that, but I thought I had more time. I'm glad one of us got it!

I will post pics when I learn how. Range report in a couple of weeks. Any info from Lee or any member on this serial number 1 would be good. I live in Post Falls,Id so I have a Seville made here. I love it. Must have gotten one made during the middle of the week. I'm not new to single actions by any means, I bought my first one in 1964 and still have it.

Nice find and you got a good deal. Your gun is an early Qwik-Kit prototype. Sig Himmelmann met Ray Herriott of Centaur Arms through a mutual friend, Adolf Wegmann. Sig provided some early El Dorado frames to Ray and Adolf and they devised the interchangeable barrel/cylinder platform. I don't have an exact number, but I believe they made 20 or less (all maked USA/Centaur). "USA-1" suggests that yours is the first they did and this would've been around 1978. When Sig split off from the Hauppauge interest and moved to Arizona, Adolf soon followed. Eventually, Adolf became one of Sig's main west coast distributors and together they resurrected the Qwik-Kit model in Bisbee. Adolf was a huge help when I put together my article on these guns. In fact, I bought quite a few Sevilles from his personal collection to include this NIB Bisbee Qwik-Kit: All of the Sporting Arms Inc QK's from Bisbee retained the Centaur logo on the right side of the frame. After moving to Tucson in 1980, Sig continued to offer Qwik-Kits including some in stainless. The Centaur logo was used intermittently at that point however. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Wow. Prototype #1 maybe? Way cool.
I would have bid that higher had I not been on the road when the auction closed. Congrats on a neat score!

Speaking of Bisbee built Sevilles, here's a photo of the old shop: Sig didn't stay there long. In fact, production at that site lasted less than a year. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"
