So I took the ROA and the Howell's Cylinder out Friday for another playtime. 71 degrees, 5950'>sea level, probably 10% humidity. Shot a familiar loading first: 10.5 grains of HS-6/mag primer/Penn 255-gr RNL again at 10 yards. Results were similar to last time: M 932.5/ES 64.02/SD 23.28 Then I shot a new-to-me load: 11.4 grains of HS-6/mag primer/255-gr CO Cast LSWC. M 1022/ES 34.98/SD 14.79 It was more accurate at ten yards . . . So I tried it at fifty . . . The five round holes that are circled are the .45s from the ROA - the extra one was there from the previous shooter;D You know, I've had AKs that didn't shoot this well. I'm not saying it's perfect (the group is a foot high and 3" to the right - need to adjust for that - and I shot a pretty bad horizontal string), but this is not bad at all for fifty yards. And the velocity makes me think that it would deliver the mail just fine at that distance. Thanks once again to Frank V. for the brass!

11.5 grains of HS-6 under a 250-255 grain lead bullet is a laser guided load in most of my 45 Colts. It's just the magic combination, seems like. Shoots better, I think, than Linebaugh's favorite 13 grain load.
