Thought I'd ask if anyone has had an opportunity to shoot the new Vaquero 45 colt model 05153? To me it looks very nice with the short barrel and birds head grips. Aparently I liked it enough to put some money down on one today If anyone has one, I'd like to hear what they think about it. Thanks

I have a 3-3/4" Montado with a birdshead grip on it and it is the best handling SA gun I have handled. Mine is 45 Colt also, with a free-spin pawl and S&W adj rear sight with patridge front blade so my old eyes can see better.

I bought the stainless version in .45 ACP (only) about a month ago, and like it a lot. It was perfectly fitted and finished. It took only a short while to do a trigger job. It was perfectly centered for windage, and I had to remove .025" from the front sight to zero it for elevation. Mine is quite accurate, for what it is, but I have not shot a .45 Colt version.
