I know what you are saying about parts flying off. I am curious about how the screw on BFR sight will hold up on my .500jrh, since they are heavier than the aluminium sight.

Probably will be good insurance to go ahead and epoxy it like they do with their ERH

The BFR has a .820 diameter barrel. Compare that to your standard SBH or Colt. Thus, the screw is in that BFR barrel a bit deeper. Still, I would keep an eye on it. Epoxy or loctite may not be a bad idea....

The boys on the Reeder Forum got bug eyed when I told them that I was sticking scope bases on 405 Winchester based wildcat Encore barrels with JB weld. Something about it will take heat to get them off. Sounded good to me!

I know what you are saying about parts flying off. I am curious about how the screw on BFR sight will hold up on my .500jrh, since they are heavier than the aluminium sight. My John Linebaugh built .475Linebaugh front site is held on with only a screw. I don't suspect a heavy gun like a BFR will put more force on the front sight, the force should push the barrel up into the sight unlike the ERH's screw. I ordered 3 sights from 2 dogs and until one comes off they will only have tread-lock to keep the screw tight.

The Linebaugh sights I have seen are also held in place with a post. Some are screwed and soldered as well. He's making triple sure it wont come off.
