Took the new FA to the range Saturday to give it a quick shakedown. Its a keeper! Also took my Gallagher SBH that has been my hunting companion for the last couple of seasons to see how the FA compared. Its gonna be a close race. At 25 yards from a sitting position, the SBH clumps shots in nice neat little groups all day. The trigger is smooth and oh so predictable. Makes it easy to shoot well. The FA shot some nice groups as well, although it was a bit more difficult to break my shots when I wanted. The trigger measures 4 lbs versus the SBH's 2 1/2lbs. Its pretty crisp and smooth, but could be better. I think I will shoot it for a few months and send it out for a trigger job if needed. Shooting it might be all it needs, and me becoming familiar with it. I think I'll contact Gallagher and see if he would work his magic on it when the time comes. It will definitely get the same front sight blade when they come in. Gonna be hard to pick a hunting companion next year...... Did I mention I love that SBH??!!

Nothing says you can only take one! Then you just pick the one that's closer depending on how the target presents itself.

John does one fine trigger job! When I've got multiples on the shooting bench I have to make sure I keep up with when I pick up a Gallagher gun to shoot.

John's action work is really incredible. He can make a Ruger feel way better than they should

No, I would love a FA in 44 mag. An accurate 44 is one of the best things in life!

I will agree with that sir! An accurate 357 mag and 32 mag aint a bad thing either. I am loving the 32 mag more every time I shoot it. What a sweet round, I have all but forgotten 22LR.
