I just got the .44 Special I've been posting about today as well as a .38-40. You've seen the Colt before. From top: .44 Special, .45 Colt, .38-40

bushhog Those are beautiful revolvers. I've not shot a Bisley. I need to.

Quite nice. If it wasn't for USFA, there simply would not be enough Colts to go around. No slight meant toward Uberti, but their odd base pin arrangement and new "safety" take them out of the realm of the traditional single action. How do they shoot?

Wonderful, absolutely beautiful. I need to git me a Bisley Flattop Target. Even with the current Colt production being as good as it is, I still prefer the USFAs.

Thanks everybody. The .45 Colt shown is the 1st USFA revolver I've owned. I liked it so much I bought the others. The grip frame seems to suit me well. While you can't shoot heavy stuff in these guns the shape handles the recoil well and just feels good.
The .45 does really well with 250s and 260s @ 900fps. About 2" groups @ 25yds which is about as good as I can do. Don't have a Ransom cutout done yet to see what it'll really do. Don't really care too much. I'm just taken by these sixguns.
David Clements has been working on a # 5 using this grip frame and receiver. Can't wait to get a look at that. Never can tell what's next. That's where I got the base pin and grips the .45 wears.

bushog, so let's get this straight....you ordered one or two guns from USFA, through Alex Hamilton, and received them a mere six weeks later? Only six weeks, after everyone else is being told it will take 9 months to a year? The company line is, there's a "backlog" and you have to "get in line". That is the reason for the wait, or, so says Gary Granger. One can only wonder, why you were able to get yours so quickly. The good thing is, it proves at least SOMEONE is able to get an order delivered. First I've heard of that happening, in a year.
