Every once in a while a man has to build something for himself...Here is the latest from the bench of Alan Harton. A Ruger Blackhawk done in the Colt Flattop Target style: Detail of the top strap welding and rear sight fabrication: Left side view: You gotta love that Black Powder chamfer that Harton cuts... What a beautiful package! I love the SBH hammer and trigger. Stocks are hand fitted walnut with nice grain. Alan tells me that after he takes it to test fire at the range to get the front sight height just right he will add a screw to the front sight base so that he will be able to adjust it for elevation. How cool is that?

Nice! Originally a 41 mag? Is the grip frame a SBH? Not what what I would want in a custom but no questions about the workmanship and attention to detail... Isn't it grand that we don't all want the same thing!

Very nice gun. My 38 WCF Alan did was originally going to become a Flattop Target. Then I stumbled upon a deal on a USFA one and the rest is history. That cut behind the sight looks very similar to the Ruger Single Six.

That's a pretty neat mod & the rest of the gun looks great, too.

Very nice. I can't believe how much I like fancy walnut, now. It didn't used to trip my trigger like it does now. Mr. Harton seems to do it all. Fabrication, welding, custom stocks.....Some skilled craftsman!

Did he tell you what it's chambered for? Says 45 Colt on the gun.
