I was a a shop today a they have a BFR in 22 hornet, used, with what looks like a 10" barrel and rubber grips. The gun looks new and they had it marked $499. I think this is a good price. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance, Ed

Ive got my eye's out for one of those, I think that's a great price, I would grab it if I were you, MRI does not chamber this round in the BFR's anymore. most of these are the older pre-JT guns which means they will take stock bisley parts if you want.

I own the only one I have ever seen... Are you sure they were produced as pre JT BFRs... Mine is a JT.

I think this gun has the "rounded-square" trigger gaurd like the new production guns. I thought $499 was a good price.

I'm fairly certain I paid $500 for mine... Bought a K Hornet Reamer too... Guess what?

Wish I had a glorious tale of short days at the loading bench and long days at the range but that just isn't so. Reaming the chambers to K Hornet by hand took a few hours but was uneventful. Loaded some pulled GI 223 FMJs in the Hornet cases for fire forming. Had to seat past the cannelure to fit in the cylinder. FWIW people experienced in such matters say that the 55 grain FMJ bullet does not shoot well from a K Hornet barrel.. I have not been back to the range with the gun since fire forming the brass. Just to many irons in the fire. I plan to send it to Gary Reeder for grip fitting in the near future.
