I have a Ruger Bisley 44 Magnum and I'd love to find a couple additional cylinders to create a "John Taffin Trio" - 44 Magnum, Special and Russian combo gun.
Does anyone have a source for Blackhawk (preferably Bisley roll marked) cylinders in .357 I could have rechambered?
Thanks.

I think that might be very difficult. If I recall correct, the 357 cylinder is shorter than the 44 magnum cylinder. If you replace a 44 magnum cylinder with a 357 mag cylinder, you end up with excessive barrel/cylinder gap. Mark

You can already do that with the one cylinder you have. All those rounds will chamber in it! You already have a convertible. Actually I believe the NM 357 cylinder is the same length and will work fine and that will be your best bet. I would contact some gunsmiths (Dave Clements comes to mind, John Gallagher too) they may have some stock laying around. Dave has sold them in the past.

Seems like a lot of money for little gain to me, but it's your money.
Don't forget thatthey made these in .41 too.
I beleive you may want to add Jack Huntington to your call list.

Thanks guys. I realize I can shoot all these rounds out of the same cylinder but I don't like shooting shorter rounds in revolver cylinders - call me anal retentive.

No, the .357 cylinder is shorter. It will have to be .41Mag cylinders for rechambering. Why would you want to spend all that money to have a .44Russian cylinder in a large frame Ruger???

Probably for the same reason I have dual cylinder guns on blackhawks in 45 Colt and 45 acp, 41 Mag and 41 Special and 32 Mag and 327 Mag. Grins and giggles! ;D

Talked to Charley Clements and it would indeed require a 41 magnum cylinder. Probably not too many of them floating around loose, so I'll probably shelf the idea for the time being.
