I agree with what Paul wrote. I had a similar problem with my M83. My cylinder was cut with the abrupt throats. I also resized my cast bullets to .451. Although they would chamber, they left plenty of leading in the chamber. I could not fire more than 50 rounds without a complete cleaning of the cylinder. I sent the cylinder to FA and they did recut the chambers. The problem is now fixed. Keep us posted. Mark

Don't be like me, I now have over 300 Penn Bullet 340gr CTCs sized .451 and cast very hard, (read hard, undersized bullets) that give me leading problems in the .454 – I need to shoot them up, but just haven’t gotten around to it. I ordered 500 of those when I thought my throats were .451 Don't shoot them if they're undersized. Melt them down and cast exactly what you want!! Can't do that with jacketed bullets. They are not undersized. Being a harder alloy they were run through a .451' die but bounced back to .452"

Mark We didn't re-size any of the bearing surface below the lower crimp groove, so they should still be sized correctly for the bore. I think my throats are just right at .452. I'll fire a bunch of rounds through it next time and check for leading. I noticed just a smidge at the forcing cone, but that may have been from the Trailboss loads. I'll report back after my next range trip.
