I've read several times of folks using this powder for some of their .41 mag loads. My question is where can data for W231 be found? I haven't been able to find any.

Isn't WW231 the one that is the same as HP38?

Yes, they are the same powder axehandle. Different jugs for different mugs, so to speak

6.5/231 under 215 swc averages 932 fps in my Ruger 7 1/2 Bisley 41 mag. I think I picked this load up on the OLD Sixgunner.com board. Been using it for years. Hope it works for You.

My 41's like 6.9 grs. 231 with the 215 lead SWC. Very accurate.

I used to shoot a lot of Unique in 41 Mag (Unique and W231 are very close on burn rate). 8.0 with a 215 cast was my favorite. A few years back though I switched to Green Dot and settled on 7.0 under a 230 grain Keith. You may want to give it a try. One grain less than Unique/W231 but hits the same speed. Seems to burn cleaner too. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Thanks Lee, just loading a few for the range, will give it a try. Last year I was in Alaska and found Green Dot for $16. a lb. so I have a few. Will let you know what my Chrono says.
