I talked to Ron today and he has several #5 grip frames available. He did tell me that due to increased production costs, the next batch of frames will be priced higher. If you were thinking of getting one, now might be the time. I plan to pick up at least one tomorrow. He also has a good supply of the brass Colt style frames for Rugers. Here's mine on a NM FT Ruger after 2 1/2 years of pretty constant use. Dan

Thanks for the heads-up.
bigmuddy would you be willing to share some detail pics of the grip frame with the grips off?
I have never seen one in person and am interested in the geometry where the backstrap meets the receiver.

Thanks for the heads-up. bigmuddy would you be willing to share some detail pics of the grip frame with the grips off? I have never seen one in person and am interested in the geometry where the backstrap meets the receiver. Here are a few pics of the frame when it was being built. This last picture shows the set screw in the frame that allows you to adjust the travel of the hammer. When set properly the hammer only travels as far as is necessary to cock the gun. Ron explained to me how this is easier on the action. I just think it makes it feel solid. (sorry it is so blurry) Dan

That over travel stop for the hammer prevents the hand from trying to continue to turn the cylinder after it is locked. Standard on Fast Draw SAs, as otherwise it will eventually tear up the cylinder locking notches. A superior feature.

Anyone else note that the pics flit from OM to NM? Excellent illustration that the Power #5 grip frames are made for both!

I picked mine up today, for an OM. I also got a Bisley hammer and wide trigger for the OM. One thing I noticed different from the parts in my original gun...The Bisley hammer is checkered instead of grooved. I really like that a lot better.
