Actually, it is the grip frame I was thinking about. Here's a photo of one from his forum: Probably works, but I'll stick with my Bisley. More knuckle tape should help things a bit. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Lee, I believe he modifies his Bisley grip frame a bit as well. Huntington gives you more room between the grip and the trigger guard as well. But it's amazing what a difference a custom made grip makes in keeping your knuckle away from the trigger guard.

Gary wrote that his magnum grip frame provides 3/8 inch more room behind the trigger guard. I'm assuming that is compared to a Bisley. Huh? Can you post pics of them so we can see the difference? Here's Gary's grip-frame on my reeder built 500SW above my Huntington built 500Maximum. It's the same as a BFR/ruger-hunter frame with a rounded bottom, It doesn't over rotate nor does it smack my middle knuckle like my bisley's do, Reeder had them made because he can't get bisley type grip-frames in the quantity's needed, they seem to work good for me.

There is clearly more room between the trigger guard and the grip on your Reeder.

Ransom rested I think the cartridge with that load would tear ragged little holes. No doubt the gun is more capable than my hold can ring out. After another 50 rounds of work with it, I couldn't be happier with the results. The only thing that wasn't very happy was my middle knuckle. This is even with it being taped underneath a glove: -Lee www.singleactions.comI have a cure for that knuckle problem. Oversized Blue Magnum grips. Your knuckle never gets hit, because it's not behind the trigger guard. Bill

Let's elaborate on these grips that fill in behind the trigger guard.. Your knuckle ends up below the trigger guard but the gun is positioned that much higher in your hand. Means the hand is that much more lower than the bore axis. Doesn't this change the entire recoil scenario?

Just need a little more room in there.

After holding Whit's 500 Maximum, Jack Hunington's Bisley treatment is the way to go. Of course Whit, I'm still going to require 20 - 30 rounds with your gun to confirm that. -Lee www.singleactions.com
