I bought this a couple of years ago and then traded out of it right away, before I really had a chance to appreciate it. I was looking for an heirloom quality gun to purchase for my son to learn on when he was old enough and eventually to give to him. I've tried the Bearcat and it left me wanting. I've considered Single Six, USFA's 12-22, eventhe Peacemaker 22. But size or cost always were prohibiting factors. The 7/8 size of the Frontier Scout seemed like a gun that could fit both a youth hand and the big meathooks of his father. I just got this thing back and have fallen in love all over again. I just wanted to open up discussion again on .22s --edited to not be so obnoxious. I'm not crazy about the aluminum frame, but it sure feels good in the hand. Made in 1965.
