In conversing with John Dougan found out recently that Bill Ruger and Micro Sight Co. teamed up and Micro was a early distributor of the flatgate Ruger SA. 22 in 1954 or so --Guys were wanting these ADJUSTABLE sights on there new RSS so they teamed up and ruger did not have to fool with putting on these sights other gun companies at that time were putting then on at their factory--Ruger was not--this is a recent Tulsa find with a odd ball front micro sight blade --looks like a lot of custom sight blades of our day they offered 3 type front blades this is not one of them--JMHO a special order from a customer------

A close up of the front blade--the ramps were all alike but the blades could be changed out by taking out the little screw in the ramp--the tiny pin is to help hold the ramp to the half cut original front fixed front sight--does not that blade look like those on some of todays custom front sights on big-bore custom SA's ------

That front sight looks a lot like the ones Bill Grover put on his Improved #5s.

It does look like the TLA sight.....I had Alan Harton build one for me based on Bill Grover's design. I like your flat gate looks to be in great condition. Mike

I have an early 4 digit flat gate shooter grade gun that I take out and plink with, I enjoy the old Rugers. Some day I'll have to get them all out and take a few pictures.
