THAT IS NOT A GREAT WESTERN WHICH WAS MADE AROUND 1954-1962 IN CALIFORNIA. THIS IS A GREAT WESTERN II WITH NO CONNECTION TO THE ORIGINAL AND IS MADE IN ITALY.

I don't have that exact model, but do have 2 Great Western II's from the same company and they are great guns, no trouble at all and very good out of the box actions. That price is OK, not great, MSRP from the EMF website is $605.00 www.emf-company.com/store/pc/Alchimista-c67.htm

I have a couple of GWIIs and they are fine guns. I like them as well as any Italian copy. The price looks about average to me.

Mfg'd by Pietta. "The Alchemista" is their (EMF's) import that was the brain-child of the CEO of Pietta. AIUI, he has big mitts and wanted the larger grip frame of the 1860 Colt vs. the 1873 SAA version. They've been well-received by the "big-mitt" crowd in cowboy action shooting.
