Don't know much about the Dan Wessons but I've always liked the look of them and heard they shoot good.
Local shop has a 6" Monson .357 for just under $400.00 that looks new. It has a flat black finish, was this an option or is it a refinish? No extra barrels or anything with it. Is the price way too high or should I run back down there?
Thanks for any info

All of the DWs I've ver seen had very nice, deep bluing (except the stainless). What you describe sounds like a refinish.
Price may be a little high (IMO).

Thank You Mark. I'm wanting a Dan Wesson eventually, but I want it to be right. I can wait.

I'm wanting a Dan Wesson I want it to be right. I can wait. I too have been eyeing these lately and have managed to drag home a .357,a .41 mag and a .44mag . Still looking for more and the bits and pieces are endless. That said, in the blued guns I have yet to see anything other than deep shiney black/blue so I strongly suspect refinish. Probably still a good gun but not worth that kind of coin. If you want a nice DW don't waste too much time as they have really started to move fast around here and seem to finally be getting some due respect(as in the escalating prices).

Agreed, prices always seem to creep up. I really only want one, as an example of the brand. While this one looks really nice, if it's a refinish it doesn't represent the brand very well. Like everything, I'm sure it's a slippery slope into ending up with a bunch of them. ;-)
