Any one have photo's of mid length barreled 83's.
I'm thinking of a 5" .50 WE to go with my 4 3/4" 97 in .45 colt.
Should make a perfect pair....

here's my 5 1/2" JRH, its a good compromise between a short barrel for carrying and a longer hunting rig, if it was me I would get the standard 6" barrel or better yet the 7 1/2" being you already have a 4 3/4" for carry, the weight of a 83 doesn't change much with the longer barrel in the big 50.

I don't understand a 5", it being just 1/4" longer than the standard 4 3/4" FA, but I think I've seen a 6" .500 WE somewhere: And a 4 3/4" to compare to:

I understand that 5" just sounds weird. Reeder has made two .500 Linebaughs last year at 5". They just look "right".
Thanks for the photo's! J.O.

Nothing wrong with any length I can think of.... My FAs run from 4 to 10. I did have a 5.5 FA 97 a while back. I think my Gallagher 500L is a 5 1/4.
