Do you prefer a pistol with a 4.75" barrel or 5.5"?

I like them both but if I had to chose, I prefer the 5.5" barrels because the way it feels in my hand and for longer accuracy.

I don't feel much difference in 1" but, when I shoot a 7.5" - 8" barreled pistol, I can see the difference in accuracy than the shorter barrels.

I say no choice but... If I have to chose I'll say 5.5.

I buy packin' pistols, so i want something short that won't get in the way. The shorter barrel is handy, a little lighter, and easier to sit down with it holstered.
I don't shoot tight groups with a 4 3/4 inch barrel, but I can ring a 14 inch plate at 100 yards.
I figure if it was good enough for the Duke...

I am a little guy and I can carry the shorter barrel easier, plus I like the looks, especially on my Flat top .44 Sp. However, the bigger frame Bisley .45 has the 5.5 and has perfect balance with that length. It all depends on the size of the user and the size of the gun.

I am a large guy. I have carried a gun a lot. I like the shorter bbl for carry. I us a crossdraw for the longer bbls but it is only good when riding in a vehicle. The shorter is definatly more convenient.

Never warmed up to short barrelled SA revolvers.
The 5-1/2" barrel balances better for me and provides a longer sight plane. I have SAs with longer barrels also...my aging (57 years old) eyes need the longer sight radius. I also like the extra velocity that longer barrels provide, even if it is minimal.

I go back and forth. It's usually the opposite of what I bought last time.

Well right now it's a dead heat at 11 votes each. I really kind of expected the 4.75" to dominate.
