Email them to me and I'll post them for you. steve@tlabook.com Also, I would LOVE it if you would fill out a survey form on your gun for my book research. You can find one at www.tlabook.com, or I can email you one.

My uncle ordered from Grover with full engraving along with his name on the backstrap. It is a 45 L.C. he said the grips were elephant but im not sure as to that. It maybe mammoth. I know it had to go back to Grover for some small problem. the engraving looks like the stainless #5 in Taffins book, just more on this one. Serial # is under 500. There is some holster wear as my uncle shot this gun. I am unable to ask him any more questions about the gun since he past away a few weekks ago. He loved quality guns and had many, 3 colt 44 sp, Bowen 44 sp, ruger black hawks. c sharps, shilo sharps, meecham highwall and many more. He spurred my love for firearms and handloading. He was a big man with a gentle spirit and I will miss him. I will never forget him and each time I shoot the first round will always be dedicated to him.

Now that is the kind of history that warms an old gun nut's heart. Hope I have a blood relative to leave all my stuff to who will appreciate it like you obviously do your uncle's treasures. Your #5 trips significant switches with the engraving, ivory, and being a 45 Colt. For me a safe queen would be much easier to pass along to a collector.. Enjoy your treasure!

It is nice that gun has such good memories to go with it. Thanks again for sharing it with us.
The engraving pattern looks very similar to a couple others I've seen that were engraved by Jim Russell of Texas. I could tell more with some clear close-ups of the motifs.

Really nice piece you have there. And my favorite thing about it? "There is some holster wear as my uncle shot this gun" -Lee www.singleactions.com

Congratulations that is a fine six-gun. The Grover is a fantastic gun. I've been privileged to shoot one, & it was a huge treat. Frank
