I have not started casting bullets yet and I am still buying my Keith style bullets. Anyone have any experiance with Western Bullets? Their prices seem to be pretty good.

Good bullets, just a little on the softer side. Perfect for regular loads in the .38 or .44 Specials. I haven't measured them for hardness but I suspect 10 or 11 bhn.

According to the e-mails I got, all their bullets are cast from the same alloy which is (to quote them) "slightly harder than #2". They suggested approx. 1200 fps as maximum for their 170gr Lyman #358429 SWC (no gas check).

What will you use them for? Hunting, plinking?

Whitworth I will be using them for plinking and hunting. All velocity's below 1100 fps. I was more concerned with dealing with the business than the bullets. I have ordered a small amount of bullets in various calibers and will figure out quality when I recieve them

Well guys, I am looking for a cast bullet source. Turned out the only time ever had an issue with any order from any vendor was a bullet caster. What I am looking for is Keith style bullets 32, 38, 44 and 45 cal.I would like good bullets and will pay for quality. But what I really would like is a vendor that is interested in repeat business and his reputation. I am still dealing with the last thief.

I buy a lot from Missouri Bullet and the shipping, service, and quality has been perfect. They also offer two hardness levels on their bullets.

If you are talking about www.westernbullet.com/ -- I've ordered from them and believe that he will treat you right. He usually doesn't have much in the way of quantity on hand at any given time. My impression is that they are softer than the "slightly harder than #2" claim -- although I have no way of proving it. I would have no problem dealing with them and will order more in the future. I have a new S&W PC .44 Mag that does really well with their 429421 -- YMMV. You should be able to find what you need from any of the following. The are easy to deal with, are of high quality, have quick delivery, and offer different sizing/harness options. I also use a lot of bullets from Missouri Bullet Company. I even buy some alloy from them. Very prompt and courteous service. The only drawback is lack of bullet styles available.

FWIW, Over the years, I've used bullets from MBW, Leadheads, and Rimrock. I like them all. I think the best service I got was from Rimrock.
