The front sight looks to be factory - no sign that it's been cut.
I took a pic, but my camera/laptop aren't cooperating - I'll fool with it more tonight.

It's not a big deal, but Abilene sights came to a higher point from the factory: It wasn't uncommon to see these filed down because short Abilenes often shot low from the factory (and the rear sight adjustment couldn't make-up the difference). Yep. Magnaloy is another name for hard-chrome. Good stuff too. I've yet to see an Abilene where the finish didn't hold-up (and those guns are 30 years old). -Lee www.singleactions.com
