Around 3 and a half months ago I sent Andy Horvath a 50th Anniversary 357 Magnum Flattop Blackhawk. After much deliberation I had finally decided to have it turned into a 4" line bored 40S&W. It came in today and I couldn't be happier with the finished product. Blackpowder chamfer on the cylinder, custom front sight, 2 pound trigger pull, 4" Douglas barrel, reblue and restamp for new caliber. I haven't decided what kind of grips I want for it yet, but I will eventually have some different ones for it. Andy does stellar work, and this pistol is no exception. I am already thinking of having a 10mm cylinder made for this, maybe next year. Maybe a 38-40 cylinder too? I don't know....

Andy does do great work and he is one of the quickest on turning stuff around I have found. I would not trade my 41 Special he did for anything.

You won't ever go the range and have the guy next to you say he has one of those. It needs the 10MM cylinder too.

That's a really neat NM! I see all these NM Flat-tops being sold off and thing...man, rather than fire-sale them...do something with them. Perfect example. Thanks for sharing.

Bearpaw aged buckeye burl grips. Finally came in, and I can finally call this gun done! Can't seem to post picture for some reason, so here's a link to the album, I hope it works. public.fotki.com/Trey45/andy-horvath-40sw-b/

I'm a bit odd I guess, but I like the original Ruger stocks (Colts too!) I would have to have a .38WCF cylinder for it though! A nice set of Stag stocks would set it off! Frank

Nice piece. As I have written before though, Andy does need to figure out a better way to restamp the new caliber IMO.
