Still waiting for my Clements Custom to come home and already thinking about having a stainless "back-up revolver" done up for the wet winter months or if something were to hapen to the CCG revolver. Anyone have a S&W barreled Ruger they could post pics of to help with the wait and push me over the edge to start the second project (not that a big push is necessary...I already have a bid on a stainless 44sbh cylinder on GB right now ) Thanks!!! Stump

I have a K22 barrel that I picked up with the idea of having Bowen put it on a Single Six and having a new cylinder in 327 Federal fitted. Just takes money... if you haven't seen it check out Bowen's website. It's a beaut about half way down this page: www.bowenclassicarms.com/workshop.html

Always wanted to do a S&W barreled 41 Blackhawk. Probably should start looking for one or an N-frame 357 tube that could be rebored. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Only 1 here now but it is a 41 Special that uses a model 57 barrel. Andy Horvath did the work. I just bought a 6" S&W ribbed 45 Colt barrel that should arrive today. Stash it away for another project down the road.

I've got 41/44/45 S&W barrels stashed away for projects yet to come. If there is an inkling of an itch better start looking. Can't wait until you have a need. There is a measurement of the barrel that we need to keep on the surface. Most likely has to do with the ejector shroud. Anybody got the details and the number?

6" S&W barrel lengths are as short as a guy wants to go if I am not mistaken. By the time you remove the shroud and the threaded shank since it is smaller than a Ruger, the 6" & 83/8" barrels are the ticket.

Here's my Bowen built Single Six in .327 Magnum with a K-22 S&W barrel. Can't find the cord for the good camera so excuse the poor picture quality. Below it is a S&W Model 25 .45 cal barrel for a rainy day. I have a couple of them stashed back. Robb might recognize it.... Tim

Nice Revolver kings6...the case hardening is excellent!!! I spoke to Andy Horvath yesterday about the stainless BH project. NICE GUY!!! It was funny...I mentioned this forum and that I wanted a S&W barrel installed on a NMBH and he said, "Sheesh...You guys and your S&W barrels on Rugers." Got a good feeling about him. He talked me out of building an oversized six-shot cylinder and just finding a SBH cylinder and he'd just cut the chambers to .45 caliber. I have a stainless 8-3/8" .41mag barrel that I'll have someone re-bore and I think I'm going to have it cut even with a long SBH Hunter ERH (anyone have one they want to sell/trade?). Should be a fun and easy project compared to the overhaul being done to my 1972 OMBH.
dougader...I hadn't seen that page on Mr. Bowen's website since the update. There's some beauties on there for sure!!! Thanks for the link!!!
robl...be sure to post pics when it comes home!!! Who has it now?
Lee...Take Axe's advice and jump on it...we need to have a S&W barreled sticky page if we can get enough guys on here to have 'em built!!! Heck....you've got the tools and the talent to knock one out yourself!!!
with that being said....Axe, hold off few weeks befoe sending your guns and barrels out so a few of us can sneak in line ahead of you.
princeout...That looks great!!!! I'm usually not a fan of the bisley hammers, but that one is a perfect match!!!
Thanks for the replies and keep the pics comin' if ya got 'em!!
Mike

Robb, Sure would like to swap you out of that 41 Special someday. I'd really like to have one. Then I'd have a 41 cal small frame Ruger, a .50 cal mid frame Ruger and a .500 Linebaugh large frame Ruger. That be an interesting set. Tim

Who knows Tim, it may come up for sale or trade someday It is about the handiest little packing revolver I own. Just send that 45 barrel off with a old model 357 and have it made into a small frame 45. Same small size, bigger whollop! You know Tim, now that I think about it I sent Hamilton a small framed ribbed barrel for him to make into a gun just like yours. Both those barrels may have lived here in Oregon for awhile jsut like some of Axes did at one time. Oh how fun it is to be an enabler with others money. ;D

Hey Stumpbuster!!! How have you been. I'm taking good care of our FA!! ;-) Single Six. All work done by Alan Harton. Steel grip frame and ERH. Awesome wood grips. Wide hammer spur purchased from Clements back when he used to make them. Barrel cut and fitted by Alan. Case hardening by his local source. Black Powder Chamfer on .22 and .22 mag cylinders. Action job. These pics were taken by Alan himself. This one I bought off of Gunbroker. Says Blackhawk on the side, not SBH but has unfluted cylinder. I do not have updated pics, but I put a SBH frame and Ivory stocks on it. Shoots much better now. Again, these are not my pics. These are the ones I got from the seller when I bought it.

I was planning on doing a couple but have changed my mind. I need to get the three barrels I have up for sale when I get back. IIRC, a 6 1/2" M29, a 7 1/2" full lug M657 and an 8 3/8" full lug M629. One of the stainless barrels has the quick interchange plunger front sight, the 41 maybe? The other SS has a pinned front sight. The M29 is from an earlier gun that I bought for the Coke's it had. I'll look when I get home.
