For the money it would be hard to beat JRH grip frame mod. You get a better grip fame and custom grips fitted to your hand. Thing it goes for 350 or less.

$325.00 last I checked. It is the best solution as far as I'm concerned. I am Bisley faithful, but that grip is even better in my opinion.

Whereas that JRH frame mod might be the best solution for the heavies perhaps it's not necessary for the 44 mag?
What do they call this frame mod? Their website is poor.

The grip frame mod make it more like the bisley. It just holds better in my hand vs the plow handle. Give Jack a call and he can explain it. Plus for the money you will get a set of grips fitted that rival some of the best grip makers.

Best grip i used by FAR was the pao ferro grip sold by MR. It does something strange with your pinky that is uncomfortable.... At first. But it's the only way to fly, especially when the bullet speeds are approaching 2400 fps.
Disclaimer, my buddy who loved shooting my bfr with the stock grips won't touch it anymore with the pao ferro, he hates them that much. Which is about how much I hate the feel of the stock rubbers under recoil.
How does it compare to the huntington grip? Dunno, I only just bought a BFR with that grip config. Give me till Christmas, I'll let you know if i like the jrh grip even more than the pao ferro or not.

I spoke with Jack Huntington today and he said after the first of the year they will be supplying Kahr/Magnum Research with their gripframe. So unless you find a good deal and/or like the rubbers you might want to wait.
Sending mine off shortly. I like the gun, just not the grips. I'm sure this will sort everything out.

wow. That's pretty amazing to hear. I wonder what the gripframe looks like on a long cylinder BFR. My guess is the aesthetics are underwhelming. But I imagine that will make alot of people happy, especially the ones that do not care for the hogue/pao ferro type grip.

There was obviously a misunderstanding. Magnum Research is toying with an alternate grip frame that is apparently very similar to Huntington's modified grip frame.
