Ruger has several new guns in the works. They are bringing them out a bit at a time.

THAT IS REALLY SOMETHING ELSE. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT RUGER OF ALL MAKERS WOULD BRING OUT A 45 COLT BASED ON THE MEDIUM FRAME? GOES TO SHOW YOU THE CURRENT MANAGEMENT ISN'T AFRAID TO LISTEN TO THEIR CUSTOMER BASE!

Dang!! Thank goodness the 4.75" bbl is not offered for now, I can't afford one now! When and if it comes, however.....

Oh -#$%^&*, they are getting close to my wallet now. One like this with a 4 5/8 barrel has been my dream gun for a long time. Do I dare hold out waiting for the one I really want? And NO, both is not an option.
Anybody got any good guesses about whether the shorter barrel will be offered??
Shakey.

Picture J Miller with his mouth open, slobbering. Ruger .... has finally brought out a New Model that interests me. Thankfully the 5.5" barrel is not my forte, I'll just have to wait for the 4 5/8" version.

Neat pistol another long time coming. Lipsey's is great for getting us these and the .44 specials. Nice gunleather by Mike Baranti!

I thought about waiting for the shorter tube as well, but Lipsey's says they don't know yet if a 4-5/8" barrel will be offered. I decided not to wait, and take the bird in the hand. One can always sell the 5-1/2" later to someone who didn't heed the wise old saw, "If you snooze, you lose".

I agree with the bird in the hand philosophy - life's to short - enjoy what it brings ya.
I like the Gunblast article but are we going to get another write up on this with handloads? Or perhaps JT or Brian Pearce?
With the 44 specials, I went with one of each barrel but in my case the 5 1/2 has been head and shoulders ahead of its brother. It just works better for me!

How does the 45 colt cartrige C.O.L. fit in that shorter frame and cylinder? Will some bullets/molds be too long ?
I just saw a Ruger flat top , manuf about 2006, 50 anniversery 44 mag blackhawk at the local shop. Briefly looked at it, was it a mid size 357 frame too? '
