I had an interesting conversation with a Colt rep while at the NRA show in Pittsburgh.
I was commenting on the accelerated cost of Pythons and how I was glad I got the one I did some 37 years back. He said the number one question he gets is Colt ever going to reintroduce the Python...
I said, OK, I'll bite: are you ever going to make the Python again? He didn't answer, just stood there grinning. I take that as a yes.
We'll see.

The chances of Colt re-introducing the Python are slim and none, and slim left town.
The old action is simply too intricate for Colt to manufacture in today's labor market at a price that is acceptable to the gun buying public.

Wouldn't CNC machinery make it easier to produce the intricate parts compared to 50 years ago? In other words, shouldn't the relative cost be lower nowadays?

for some reason people think they will be getting a python at reasonable price, should they re-introduce them, A Colt Python was never a reasonably priced pistol.. back when I got my 6"nickle plated python I think I got it for $550, when a good Smith & Wesson was going for about $350.. (about 25 years ago) don't matter to me if they do or don't but its still not going to be a pistol any person can just go out and buy.. that is the prestige of owning one
