Been looking into the specs of FA guns as of late. Noticed a few things like they once used (or still do on some models??) Millett sights. I didn't know that. I've heard of the removable/replaceable forcing cone but that's it. No pics or details. So what else is there to know? When did they go to the model 83 designation for all the calibers? Was that around 1997? You guys that own a few dozen of these things got some info or pics to share? Ax?? Saving my lunch money and maybe I'll own one someday.

Never saw Millett but the sights on the Silhouette FAs have changed throught the years. You'll see Bomar, ISGW, and something else on the current versions. There are other changes. The two grip frames I sent to Scott Kolar had significantly different hammer spring attachments. The forcing cone thing is detectable from the outside by a hole in the frame on the right side just under the barrel.. Pictures? You think I have pictures? Where is Ken O'Neill? ;D

I have some with screw-in firing pins other without, and Ive seen some with what looks like a pinned barrel, and I a friend has one of first which came with a buffed mirror like finish.

Yup! Just like FA makes them! You wouldn't be trying to bait me into posting pics with the Scott Kolar burl mesquite and Reeder corian grips would you?

We call it a "set" Better question might be which one did I shoot last. That would be the 9 inch 357 that isn't in the family photo...

The 10 inch 44 that didn't make the family photo didn't need grip help since it is a Premier Grade FA.

So is anybody thinking that Axe must be a fool for a FA? I'd have to reply that is a fact!
