Dammit, no offense to Axehandle. but Bogies latest beauty has my heart! I wonder if I could sweet talk him out of it for a decent price. On second thought, eh I guess not. Damn! Sorry brother, it would take a LOT of ca$h for pry that one out of my hands! It was made as a companion piece to Al and Lloyd's 500s, and both Dustin and John poured their hearts into it for me, since when I ordered it I wasn't sure I'd live to see it finished.

I didn't sit in study hall, read Ross Seyfried articles and dream about .500 WE's, 500 S&W's, 510 GNR's or .500 JRH.

I am "dealing" with this problem right now. IF (a big if as I just don't have enough N frames in my collection) I do decide to get a 50 caliber, which 50 cal? I had a 500L built on a Ruger frame. I loved the cartridge. I had nothing but problems with the builder. I am done going the custom route. That is good because now that 50 cal is a factory option (I was not into the 50ae) on two platforms, I have a choice. I don't think Magnum Reseach will convince me that the price of their gun is worth what I would give up to have another FA. However, I am willing to give them a chance. I will make that decision when Magnum Research officially makes the gun available to my dealer. As you can tell, I am leaning toward the 500WE. Mark

Mark sorry for the problem with custom builders. My experiance is that the good ones are over booked an pertty set in there ways thus a longggggggggggggggggg wait. Some will do what ever you want and while this is good it can be bad since they are the smith and we be the client, sometimes we get in are own way. I have found asking questions here and of direct owners ,and talking with the smith long in advance of laying down cash is key FWIW.

So far as customs go I learned long ago that some gunsmiths will build anything you want. Doesn't matter what they have or have not done so long as you supply the bucks. A proven builder is worth the money. Doesn't mean that an unknown can't produce some fine hardware but there is a risk that they will not. Spend the money and eat the wait.

Axe right and when it comes to resale ( we do not like to think this but better to plan a head ) it helps to have a known commodity! And my Grandpa use to say it cost $2.00 to go first class and $2.00 to go second class the latter having problems and what not. End of rant. smile goes here.
