Is it possible to fit a 22 hornet into a single six frame? Pressure a problem? If so would a 22 or 32 single six be a better place to start? I know a longer cylinder would be required, but is there enough frame window. Just thinking it would be neat with a 9/12 inch barrel as a varmint toy.

Pretty sure the Hornet is just too long for the Single Six frame, even with a custom long cylinder and short barrel shank.

Single six frames are too short as already stated. It has been done on backhawks and you might get away with it on the new mid frame but I don't know for sure.
At one time Ruger had one for auction on their website chambered in Blackhawk. They obviously tried it many years ago. Also a few gunsmiths chamber it already on the blackhawk.

Maybe a 5 shot 22Jet Ackley Improved in a Single Six? most likely no, the 22jet is based on a 357 mag case, which is to long unless you open up the front of the frame.

A 357 fits in a SS. Maybe a little frame massage, but it wasn't much, its been a while since I converted one. Minor considering the other changes.

The .22 Long Snapper was made for the stock Single Six sized cylinder.
