I looked at the latest catalog and the .50AE BFR is one that you have to call for a price on.

Catalog 3(the last one) had them on special so I called. I believe they were right around $600.

I'm just glad it's too much trouble to convert them to a Bisley, otherwise I'd have to come up with the funds for two or three of them.

Why can't we Bisley-ize these again?

The receiver is wider than the grip frame. The grip frame has to be welded up and reshaped.

Why can't we Bisley-ize these again? It can be done, but trust me, it's a lot of cutting and welding. I don't have case specs in front of me, but are folks after these for rechamber to 500 JRH? -Lee www.singleactions.com

If I remember right a .500JRH reamer won't clean up a .50AE chamber. It needs a new cylinder but at least it can reuse the barrel.

Craig, Your right, it won't clean up, but they are making the 500JRH into a production caliber and you can get one fitted for the 50ae BFR pretty cheap. a 2 cylinder gun with nicely fitted grips in a 5 shot single action all of which is factory work for less then a grand (599 for the gun 160 for grips and 190 for the cylinder). Now thats alot of value!

I still can't figure why they can't make a bisley grip? Does Ruger have a patent on them? Does the company know alot of people wants bisley grip frames?
