Well I broke down and did it. I ordered my Lipsey's Bisley Flattop .44 special. If you guys want one you better hurry, there are none of the 4-5/8 barrels left and only a couple with the 5-1/2 left. I was having a hard time deciding which barrel length to get and was even having evil thoughts of getting one of each but it made my decision easier when they were out of the shorter barrel. That's ok, I was leaning toward the longer barrel anyway.
Now I just have to dig out some .44 special brass, I know I have some around here somewhere from my lasat .44 special, it's been years since I've had one. I hope this one is as great as it sounds. I'll have to get off my butt and start shooting my revolvers more often, maybe this one will motivate me...
Anyway guys, grab em while you can, there aren't many left.

It's a smaller receiver similar to or like the one on the 2005 commemorative .357.

I mailed payments for the 4 5/8" Bisley, and the 4 5/8" SS FT's Monday. I found 1000 rds of new Starline brass at another forum last week, and have a 4 cavity brass mould ordered over at Castboolits. Merry Christmas to me!

I purchased a 4-5/8" Bisley and ordered an El Paso Tom Three Persons holster and then I found one of the "94" mistake guns made for "The Shootists" , dang it now I need a holster for a 7-1/2" 44 special.
Merry Christmas to me!

Looks like the new 44 Specials are popular with us "new" guys (meaning low post count).

IMO, the 5 1/2" model seems like a modern version of Elmer's #5 (with some obvious differences).
