I got the call from Harton, its time to work on another of my mad mad projects!!! ;D ;D Standby, Alan is working on my Buckeye which will come back to me as a 32-20/327 Federal combo with a Bisley conversion and nicely tuned. I would note that my brother beat me out of my last Buckeye and that scoundrel defiled it by drilling and tapping and mounting a scope on the thing which made me want to retch till I found out he was getting groups at 100 yards in the one inch range......last May I was spotting for him and he was killing prairie dogs at over 130 yards with it......He is running the XTP bullet out of his. Alan is also building me up a Coup De Grace sixgun, another 32 magnum 4 3/4" on a Vaquerito with Clements adustables and such..... These 2 32's will be just in time as any day now Night Owl Enterprises should be delivering the Smokin' Hot 32 bullet molds. A multi crimp groove heavy 32 bullet with GC and HP pins. Built to run HOT! More, our own hidestretchers prodigy son Ethan is building me some special leather for my 6.5 inch sixguns which will fit my Buckeye perfectly and be handsome to boot. Gonna order one of his Mountain Companions for my Vaquerito today! ;D

You may not have room in any of the 15 gunsafes for these new ones so you better just have Alan send them up here along with the 44 Special he is wrapping up.

That "hot" 32 bore BH sized gun is an eight shot right? Any HOT 6 shot 32 bore would have to be a 300 GNR.....

axehandle, the Ruger 327 BlackHawk model is an eight-shot, but the old Buckeye 32/20 & 32 mag convertible guns have six shot cylinders. And are by far the heaviest blackhawks as they also used steel, not aluminum, XR3-RED grip frames to help balance all the extra metal left in the barrel and cylinder due to the small 32 caliber holes.

It's always fun to drop by Alan's and see so many names of the folks here on boxes and the whiteboard. Even get to fiddle with them sometimes. :-) I think he has two years worth of work if he stopped taking anything now. The place is just piled with projects. Can't wait to see 'em.

"Old Buckeye".... Dang man that hurts! My way of thinking those Buckeye BHs in my safe are new! Remember the custom 8 shot 327 BH that Chuck had Alan build just before Ruger announced the 8 shot BH?? Pull out your 6 shot 32 bore specs and compare it to the 300 GNR.. All that steel can't overcome simple case capacity!

Stan, I certainly agree with you, one cant argue with case capacity. As an aside, Im currently working on a load for my 300 RUM and its a bit funky filling that case with 100 grains of powder!!!
But, back to my 32's....It seems we have already hit a snag. Alan knows I am a bit of a prick for an accurate sixgun and he will give any factory barrel in question a close look before we use it on a project. Turns out the Ruger factory barrel on my buckeye has an "ugly spot" or two in the barrel so rather have have to exercise bad barrel demons later we have elected to install a new match barrel on the buckeye. I was hoping to not spend alot of money on this particular conversion but it of course will have a Colt style crown and my favorite TLA front sight matched up with a Bowen rear. After much deliberation I decided on a 6.5 inch barrel, mostly since Barrantis son Ethan is building me a special holster for my 6.5 inch sixguns. Alan has already welded up the main frame for a seamless fit on the Bisley conversion which he will mate up with a flawless trigger job with a stop and of course there is no sense in leaving out his beautiful Black Powder chamfer on the cylinders.....
On my Single Six 32, my non fluted cylinder has gone AWOL. It wasnt easy coming up with that particular part, and now we arent sure where this one has gone off to. We may have to table that project until we find it......

Custom barrel could be your excuse for a 308 barrel! TC 32-20 and 32 Mag barrels are .308 for a reason!.. Spring for a custom full cylinder frame window cylinder so many more of those quality .308 bullets will fit! Do two cylinders so one can be a 300 GNR!
