Alan has begun cutting cylinder flutes in the older Colt first generation style on Rugers and other makes. Personally I think its the berries and plan to have it done on the #5 gun he built me as soon as I get it back from the Scrimshander. Cost to recut your cylinder is in the 50 dollar range. A bargain to be sure!! Here are some pics of before: and with the new flute style cuts:

It does seem to add a touch of class and for a reasonable price. Does he need the whole gun or just the cylinder?

Subtle touches like that really add to a custom six gun.

Subtle touches like that really add to a custom six gun. I agree. It's subtle, but definitely looks better than stock. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Great, I love the fluting style of the old Colt's! Coupled with a real blackpowder bevel, adds a huge touch of class to any custom sixgun at a modest cost.

Nice, and no one does a BP chamfer as well as he does IMO.

For $50 I may have to have it done on one of my Rugers.

On minor jobs like this it should be quite short.

Ok. Not to sound like an idiot, but what does a black powder chamfer do? I am assuming in the past when black powder was used it allowed the cylinder to rotate more freely with black powder residue.
