44 mag by don Clements 20% big bore six gun
500jrh 80% big bore six gun (loaded down to a mere 900 fps)
kind of like pistol pistols : 14" .308 encore : 25%
: 14" scoped 22 mag 75%
self defense guns : 45 acp kimber 50%
45 colt vaquero birdhead 3.5" fixed sight 50%
strictly practice / carport and backyard freindy's ( 50% each ) :
177 Benelli Kite ten meter target air pistol
14" crosman 22 air pistol
I guess overall in the past two years I shot airguns like 70%, sixguns 25%, encores : 5% --- did not shoot the self defense guns in that time, now that I think of it.. gotta go shoot those soon..
lol
it is enlightening when you look at number of shots for a gun you shoot... I did not shoot the single shots that many times by comparison to the six guns, and for cost and access reasons / time constraints, I shot the air guns most of all ... great confidence and trigger control, mental game practice.. hence the 24" kind of heavy scoped encore look alike made from rifle parts with a handgun grip on it, in 22 cal. .. lol..
I also shot a lot of crossbow arrows the last two years... until walking to get them was not an option, so I shot more things that I did not need to retrieve afterwards.. and with the airguns, a box with a blanket in it, and a couple of hundred tiny orange one inch targets and a few larger one on the other sides for longer range, lets me shoot a whole lot.. even while my sweetie sleeps in the other room.. open the garage, stand in the kitchen and shoot a hundred or so shots before you know it.. lol
Now .. what was the question ??
this year I expect to shoot the 44 six gun some, and shoot the 45 colt five shot clements a whole lot by comparison.. gonna let the 500JRH rest for a bit unless I decide I need it or I just want penetration and destruction in excess--you might say more for kicks..in place of a rifle I may use the 308 encore 14" as I recently did the last couple of years... I have so much reloading components for the 45 colt heavies and lighter cast, I cannot see not shooting it for free for a season or so.. it has been just a safe queen for no know reason .. just too much going on and a little hiatus from shooting for a while... I intend to shoot the 22s more too; I am well stocked and ready to plink like a mad man.. with the ruger mark 1 and the bisley single six.. quite the toss up there... tradition versus traditional.. too many choices not enough time..
