I finally took the plunge and bought my first custom bigbore sixgun. I found a good deal on a stainless Huntington 475 Linebaugh with an octagon barrel. Cant wait to go hunt bunnies and squirrels with it soon!

Kudos! I've been a hard core Ruger collector for a several decades. As such,, a true custom isn't where I spend my money. But I did buy one many years ago,, that in a way I kinda regret trading. It was an OM .357 Ruger converted to .44 Spl. Done long before Ruger started making them. I wanted a few of the minty parts off it to upgrade a gun I had. And the price was fair. I got the gun, swapped a couple of parts, and still never shot it. And this was long before much internet stuff, and of course,, this place. I traded it to a guy,, for a NICE minty OM Ruger Super Blackhawk,, and a little boot. He let his son be the owner & it lives outside Cody Wyoming now. And it's not only used,, it's greatly appreciated. Nowadays,, if I were to find a similar deal,, I'd buy it, shoot it,, and likely keep it. But I still reserve my money for that "next" collectable Ruger. (And that's not easy on this forum with all the enablers around here.) I'm getting a bit senile. I actually do have a custom sixgun. Not sure who did the work,, but I bought an OM Super Blackhawk that someone had chopped the barrel & done an action job on. They also added a factory brass grip frame to it. When I bought it,, I swapped off the grip frame,, and decided it needed a SS Bisley one,, and even added a SS ERH to it. It's a heck of a shooter.

GEEZ! 1400 for squirrels is rough and that sucks! I guess it will only be a bunny gun then. Im not accurate enough for a limit squirrels, might take me 50rds for my state limit of 8....thats rough/heavy shoootin! Time to go put back and practice! Would a 500L better since its .035” larger bullet to hit said squirrels??

Yes but 485gr. Bullets at 1200 are still required for those other side of the tree shots.

Jack does top notch work, and a stainless gun makes for a good hard working, abuse taking, tool.
