we had swans back up here... Minnesota, a month ago... Robins are back a month or more early... this morning, early, I had a buck running in the ditch along side me, it was dark, but he was in my headlights... a 6 or 8 point... still had his rack... a couple weeks ago, saw a group of deer crossing the road, with 3 bucks with racks, in the group... they normally drop off here, mid February... never seen antlers on a buck this close to spring... assume this is because of all the available food, that didn't get covered in snow this year???
you guys from more southern states... how long do deer keep their antlers in your areas???

Definitely been a mild winter. Almost hit a 6 point last week on my way to work while on my motorcycle. Unusual to see a buck around here this time of the year. Robin's are already all over the place here in SW Ohio.

Yes, skimpy cheap excuse for a winter and now early spring. A trip to the hills this weekend, friends warned, early spring, early bears. There, at that place, last bear rut, 8 different bears were seen. Some can't help but check out the cabin. Friend that owns place bought my 2 old ATVS. Bear mauled one of them..

We had a really bad winter kill of elk and deer last winter, so a mild winter here in Colorado has been welcome

Mild winter in the west will equal drought if something doesn't change. That said it was looking like this in 2022 and then the heavens opened up. It was still snowing on June 15th. Then the rain came.
That's the Yellowstone 500 year flood of 2022.

you guys from more southern states... how long do deer keep their antlers in your areas??? I’m in north Georgia and we had trail cam pics of two bucks last week still holding their racks. In fact, they were sparring at a feeder. They usually start dropping antlers mid-Feb in this area, but some don’t drop until March. I’ve read several reports on Georgia Outdoor News that people started finding sheds mid-Feb.
