After surrender to 30 Carbine, I needed to shoot something else.
With all the recent posts on Ubertis, I've had the Callahan on my mind.
When I got the gun, it shot well with jacketed bullets. Throats at .429", it wasn't so cast bullet friendly.
First thing I did was add a 44-40 Cylinder. It had .4305" throats and shot cast into tiny groups.
While I enjoyed the 44-40, the cylinder went to Fermin. It came back with .430" throats and I Flex-Honed another .0005" to match the 44-40 Cylinder.
But, I never put it back in the gun until today.
Took it to the bench with an assortment of ammo. Just like the 44-40, every ammo tried shot into tiny groups. Didn't matter if it was Special or Magnum, tiny groups followed.
I've never been shy about praising Uberti Revolvers and today reminded me just how great they are...

I haven't shot mine in a while, might need to get it out and warm it up.

I thoroughly enjoy sitting down at a bench with any of my Freedom Arms Revolvers and shooting small, consistent groups. When I paid for those guns, I knew to expect small, consistent groups.
To sit down and duplicate those groups with a $400 revolver, is extraordinary.
I realize they're more expensive now than they were when I bought mine. But, that's true across the board.
Still, Uberti Revolvers never cease to amaze me...

I had the opportunity to by the Uberti in 10mm, octagon barrel, and I passed as I was too busy at the time to take the trek to the big gun store. These guns can shoot.
