All of Jerry Kuhnhausen's reference works, especially those on revolvers (S&W, Ruger DA & SA and Colt DA & SA)
Also, The Modern Technique of The Pistol by Gregory Boyce Morrison. An outstanding piece of work.

Sorry to contradict, Mr. Taffin, but it IS The Pistol Shooter's Book and it IS by the senior. I have a copy. In about the middle, it talks about Sgt. Joe Benner's prowess with the 1911. A photo shows a phenomenal 2" affhand group at 50 yds. Another of my prizes due to the idiot librarian.

Better do your research. The handgun book is by Jr. His father was a well known shotgunner. Not known for handguns. Jr. was NRA pistol champion many times over.

Pioneering Handgun Hunting: by Alfred J Goerg is a worthy addition though a bit tough to find.

AND THE BOOK YOU SPEAK OF WAS PUBLISHED LONG AFTER SR. WAS GONE HOME. PS I HAVE TWO COPIES AND THEY ARE BOTH BY JR. YOU NEED TO DO SOME MORE CAREFUL RESEARCH. AS SOMEONE ELSE SAID SR. WAS MOSTLY A SHOTGUNNER AND HE WAS ALSO SHOOTING EDITOR AT OUTDOOR LIFE BEFORE JACK O'CONNOR.

Mr. Taffin; I admit it. I was wrong about Jr. & Sr. I was correct about the book title. It set me on a course of learning to be a handgun shooter. Please unclick your caps lock. Thanks for the correction,
Mike

NO I WILL NOT. I'VE BEEN USING CAPS FOR 20 YEARS AND I AM NOT ABOUT TO CHANGE. THE IDEA THAT SOMEHOW CAPS ARE "YELLING" IS RIDICULOUS.
