Hi all,
I have a chance to purchase a left-handed Barranti NW hunter chest rig
Its made for FA 83 6” for rmr mounted red dots and its left handed; which I am
I have a bfr 5.5 inch and a SBH BISLEY 6”. Would this holster work?
I do not have a freedom arms revolver to compare to obviously, and was wondering if anyone has a combination of these revolvers and have used the same holster
Thanks in advance Dave

It should...
Had Simply Rugger build a standard holster for a 6" FA 83. When it came in the fit was impossibly tight. Turns out at the time he didn't have a form for a FA so he used a Super Blackhawk... Got the corrected holster in that fits the FA83 perfectly and the Blackhawks with no slop also...

Bob Thank you for the reply. Do you happen to know if the BFR and the FA 83 frames Are approximately the same thickness?

...I'd be guessing... Never have owned a BFR or for that matter shot one.

The bfr frame is larger. It is really tight in the Barranti holster made for my 353.

Diamond D Custom Leather makes the Guides Choice chest holster and the Alaska Hunter hip holster for the BFR. Their products are first class.

The BFR's frame is sort of a slightly "swole" version of the Ruger.

The forward lower portion of the cylinder frame, ejector rod housing, and barrel diameter of a BFR are quite a bit larger than a Blackhawk. Some holsters, depending on how the mainseam is contoured, may fit, but I have found I need a different pattern for the BFRs for all my holster models.

Many thanks on checking on the fit to confirm if the one would work or not.
There isnt many people anymore that would go the extra mile to make sure a customer gets exactly what he wants
Im really looking forward to the NW Hunter I ordered today for my BFR.
You have a lifelong customer with me
