I was pretty surprised to see this. Evidently BHA has decided to roll back their prices like Walmart on two different models. If the price increase scared you off, maybe this will get you back in the game with one of their rifles.

Their website is a little confusing with the pricing but I added both of the rifles There are touting for the rollback and you can see what ended up in the cart. That's a pretty significant difference and a pretty darn good deal given the quality of those rifles. I like the Marlin rifles however for this price point I'd be leaning in this direction.

Almost half price? Is that for only the .500 S&W?

Half up front. Not half off.

Half up front. Not half off. Ah see that makes more sense, quite misleading it looks like their base model is half priced now. Not that I’d be able to pick it up even at that price right now but it would be a hell of a deal.

They are going broke is my assessment.

They made a huge price increase in February of 2023. My local Scheel’s ordered a couple just before the price jump, and sold them later that spring priced at $2500. Inflation has been really bad the past few years, but big horns price jump was huge. They may have out priced their target market, I would think.

Last time I spoke with them they still had a sizeable backlog. Some of that backlog is where customers only put $600 down and then more recently they started requiring 50% down. They should have a sizeable cashflow coming in.

When I ordered mine I think it was $800. Deposit, plus shipping. Wish it was that price still I would order a couple more

I suspect they priced them so high people quit ordering. They simply priced them too high.
Companies don't lower prices out of goodness of heart...

I’m guessing they had too many people back out from smaller deposits and then they have some very built up guns that cost a lot and are not easy to move when the original buyer bows out. You can build their guns up over $8k pretty easily. Most guys spending that much want it built exactly to their specs not someone else’s.
I could be wrong.

Oh I agree on the thought about their pricing. They priced themselves into a category where I'd be looking at turnbull or another custom builder to make an 1886 to my specs. If I spend that kind of money on a lever it'll be original or custom 1886/71.
