The Merwin & Hulberts have a very short grip. I think they should have combined the Ruger bisley upper portion with the Ruger birdshead lower and add the crusher to that. More like the USFA omni.

A little over the top but not by much. Like you say, does lend some inspiration.

I'm confused by the ejector rod.

I'm confused by the ejector rod. It doesn’t have one.

Not for me, but it is good workmanship. My tastes tend to run toward the utilitarian, I’d be afraid to use that one.

What did you think of the loading gate?

What did you think of the loading gate? I'd never seen a checkered gate and that's what I thought was interesting.

I like the scalloped hammer back, great job integrating that shape into the design. The muzzle brake seems a little aggressive? The loading gate seems inline with the theme. I'd be tempted to create a front sight/rib with a scalloped shape like the hammer back and skull crusher base.
I plan to do a M/W skull crusher once I complete all my in process projects. I am leaning toward a 7.5" blued gun brass GF, either .357 or .45.

Fascinating. While the grip ain't my style the engraving is beautiful and I don't do engraving on my sixguns. That is quite the piece.
Looks like that began life as a Ruger Bisley in the right caliber.
Yup, quite the sixgun. I'm diggin'it.

Just up and no coffee in yet. But wow ! This has caught my attention. Like Gnappi said, not my cup of tea. But I sure appreciate that the canvas used was a single-action and it appears it's use towards the defending of ones life. LIKE, and just shared with 4 younger friends and nephews. Oh, editing in..The grip fit looks first class, the checkered loading gate very neat, etc.. So much going on, that it'll take more than one long look to see it all !
