A long way back, a LGS got in a shipment of Marlin lever rifles and this one was the one that caught my eye. I fretted about the silly high price tag but I had not seen the likes of this with this quality of stock so I bought it. This was before shooters got the box fetish so the box is gone, and I never cared one way or the other about a safety. I grew up in a family of shooters not collectors and I lived in a small house not conducive to sacrificing living space for multitudes of boxes saved for subsequent owners:-) Today a quick check on GB prices re-affirmed that this was a good decision.

Wow, that is a nice one. Glad you had the sense enough to pull the trigger while you had the chance. I've always liked Marlin rifles. How does she shoot?

I'm still able to hit what I aim at with open sights at 100 yards with it. Florida is REALLY dense shooting most places so 100 years is more than enough.

We're pretty dense around here too, unless you happen to get lucky and know someone with fields that will let you hunt. Most of the time 100 yards is the max, and 50-65 is more like it. Those rare open fields... well Elmer might try it with a handgun, but not I.
