I just got my first Henry in trade, it was new, and after working it at the counter I decided to give it a home. After half a box of ammo I set up a target at 15 yds and put 15 rounds through it. My group was pretty dang good, and I'm happy. I don't need to do anything to it I took the hood off of the front sight.
I put a large lever on it. I think the factory feels okay, but I have big hands. Maybe buy another brass mag tube just to have an extra on hand.
As far as the lever, I didn't feel like my hand was far enough back when shooting. Also, this gives more finger room obviously (I have XL/XXL size hands). So far, I like it. Took about thirty minutes, could have been faster if I hadn't gotten one part out of place in reassembly.
My next is the Henry 357/.38 side load.
I have been interested in the Rossi too, but haven't decided completely.
