Great belt howitzer as always from magnum research but the extreme long cylinders are pure overkill on the S&W magnums

Yeah, if you’re going to have that super long cylinder you might as well get a 45-70

Also not a fan of the appearance of those super long cylinders; but do like my 460 xframe and know some don't like xframes.
As an aside, I once knew a young lady (maybe 20?) that enjoyed shooting her BFR 45-70. Suspect she was probably more macho and a better shot than I.

Been reading about the bushwhacker cartridge. Not sure what the scale is from practical to sadistic; but that has to be up there. I think I'd want a helmet and wrist brace on before I touched one off.
I remember a friend who was into guns telling me about a freedom arms for sale in the 454 cartridge when it first came out. Person ordered it, fired one shot, and was trying to sell it cheap. Called it uncontrollable.
How far we've come...

MY FRIEND MARK KEY USED A 10" BFR 460 WITH HANDLOADS, IIRC, OF THE 325gr SWIFT @ 2,000fps. IT KNOCKED THE HECK OUT'a LARGE AFRICAN ANTELOPES.

Call me narrow minded but those long cylinder just look totally out of whack and have no draw for me. Just never had any interest in the BFR guns due to esthetics reasons.

BFR's are like dump trucks. You buy it for the payloads it will deliver, not because it's pretty.
That being said, I only have one long cylinder model. The rest are short cylinders I will eventually find time to refine the looks of the Bisnana grips on

I kinda like them. I have the 500S&W, 500JRH, 475 Linebaugh, 45-70, 45/454/410, there might be one more in there someplace...

My only Long Cylinder BFR is a 45-70. Magnum Research says it's their most popular caliber.
It works extremely well with proper handloads and offers more power than I can handle with heavy loads.
But, I don't have the desire to add more...

My long cylinder BFR is chambered in .50-110 but it is not much fun to shoot this devil killer.

They should chamber the 41mag as a 6-shot.
It's ridiculous to have the 454 Casull as a 6, but the 41 as only a 5.

If a guy needs a Master Blaster, that should fit the bill.
