It's here and I have already ran some Skeeter loads through it. My bad eyes aint working with the sights. As bad as I hate to I ordered a wonder sight. Even Elmer put one on a gun or two.

Fine looking piece and good that you're shooting it. It's just as badazzz now as it ever was.

I for one will be VERY interested in your impression of the Wonder Sight once you have it installed. Is it only a stopgap or an actual, viable tool? Have looked at them off and on for years.

Here it is installed. It seems solid enough. I haven't got to shoot it with the sight yet but deffinatly a better sight picture.

I shot it with the Wonder Sight. Deffinate improvement over the fixed frame groove.

Doesn't look bad at all. Tells the world you are man who knows what he's doing.

Looks? Meh! Holes in the target, that's what's important.

A few years ago I bought a well used 3rd Model HE in in .44 Special. It was worn with the finish mostly gone with some external pitting, so didn't really have any collectors value. It's a very, very accurate revolver, but the sights were just too small for my 60-year-old eyes. So I sent it Alan Harton with instructions to do whatever necessary to make the sights on the HE identical to those on the S&W 10-x's. He did opened up the fixed rear sight to .130" and milled the front sight blade off and made the remaining base capable of accepting a 1/8" wide ramped serrated sight. MUCH better sight picture. I'll post some photos later.

Well I am both impressed and embarrassed. The Wonder Sight is quite clever and not TOO obtrusive and, if you can't hit with a revolver, it's just an expensive trot line weight. That's the impressed part.
I have in my library most of Elmer's books, McGivern's "Fast and Fancy, etc.", books by Jordan, the two books Shooting Times put out with Skeeter's articles and Lord knows how many other books on handguns, vintage and not quite as vintage......and for the life of me I do not remember reading about the Wonder Sight. Apparently it didn't register.....
